Mostly because /r/Parkour is full of people who continuously want to debate definitions. So I thought I’d start a community where we can discuss and post about freerunning and anything related to it without being flamed and downvoted into oblivion.

Very Basic Training Info For Parkour & Freerunning
Conditioning for Parkour and Freerunning: Go find a hill, sprint up it a bunch, a couple times a week.
Strength Training for Parkour and Freerunning: Lift incrementally heavier things in a linear fashion. (Read Starting Strength)

Current Program - Volume and 5RM Development
Sat - Rest Sun - Rest Mon - Max Effort Upper Tue - Dynamic Lower Wed - Rest Thur - Dynamic Upper Fri - Max Effort Lower
Linear Progression should be at 1.25-2.5kg a week
Max reps should be aiming at 30 total reps before progressing weight.
Monday - Max Effort Upper
Bench - Warm up to 3x5 Linear Progression
DB Bench/DB Incline Bench - 2xMax
DB Row/Reverse Flye Superset - 3xMax

Try as hard as you want. Freerunning will never be a spiritual practise, and I’m so glad of that fact. There is nothing more based in reality, no action more reliant on rational decisions and evidence, nothing more steeped in reason, than human physical movement.
